John Paul Francisco

Co-Founder & Programmer

John Paul Francisco is a teaching assistant and student at UBC Computer Science. Part of the course staff of UBC Engineering’s first year C programming course, he is passionate in providing his students with a memorable introduction to software development through a driven approach in his teaching for his course’s lectures and online discussion boards. Proactive in contributing his software development skills for the greater good, he is a volunteer software engineer for Code the Change, a nonprofit started at UBC that provides free software for nonprofit organizations across BC such as Options For Sexual Health and YWCA. He is currently working on a cross-platform app to help users find drug overdose prevention sites quickly and anonymously. In the past, he has also worked on a variety of projects such as a barcode scanning app that checks if a given product fits a user’s dietary restrictions, a robust Spotify song recommender, and a productivity manager for Google Chrome.
